About the Mortons Archive
Over 4 million images
Without the benefit of one of the finest and most complete motorcycle archives in the world, this book would have been virtually impossible to produce.
The archive, which takes pride of place within our Lincolnshire-based media centre, is the hub from which Mortons Media Group Ltd produce some of the most respected classic motorcycling magazines in the world.
As well as bound volumes of magazines dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, we have approximately four million motorcycle-related images from which to choose.
Included in the collection are thousands of glass plates, still in their original boxes, some of which have still to see the light of day after being packed away over 50 years ago.
Slowly but surely we are getting more and more pictures online.
A small selection of what we have to offer can be viewed on our website, (www.mortonsarchive.com).
On the following pages [of the book] we give you a taster of the huge variety of images contained within the archive.
They clearly show how motorcycles have been used over the years for work, pleasure and sport.
Our Archivist is available during office hours to answer any queries you may have regarding sourcing one or dozens of pictures and can be contacted on +44 (0)1507 529423.
